The Merlino table, designed by Paolo Rizzatto, thrilled the international jury of the Archiproducts Design Awards 2024 for its concept and design, resulting in the winner in the Furniture category.
An acknowledgement to a product that becomes a sculpture, characterized by the marble top that seems to float supported by an unusual structure that is surprisingly rich and light, airy and iridescent when viewed from different points of view.
The linear and curvilinear shapes in burnished and brushed metal that compose it recall organic plant forms and, reflected in a mirrored surface, multiply and seem to mysteriously sink into the floor. So the designer wanted to pay tribute to Fausto Melotti, a multifaceted and abstract artist who has always shown love for the material of which Ghidini1961 is a skilled interpreter.
